Breaking The Silence

Breaking the Silence is a denominational initiative of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria of which we are a member church.  It's aim and purpose is to provide guidelines and instruction for the saftey of all children in the care of our church.  Every new member will be instructed in these materials and discussion to ensure they understand them.  Where appropriate, adult members are required to sucessfully secure a Working With Children card from the state of Victoria.  The Hume PC fully subscribes to its contents and recommendations.

This official Presbyterian Church of Victoria document discusses the issue of sexual abuse from a Church perspective and suggests various measures which can be undertaken within Churches to prevent incidences of sexual abuse, and to appropriately respond where an allegation is made or incident reported.
